At the end of February, the figures show an increase of 5,648 patients, across all sites, even though there is a slight decrease of 239 patients from January to February.
This increase is mainly due to the TeleDerm service running at SaTH, although there has also been an increase in patients at NX and Walsall, including those taken with the Clinical Uploader app and own cameras.
Now we are fully staffed and training is well underway, we are seeing an improvement in our key performance figures (kpi’s), in the time taken from the photo request being raised to the time we attend and how long it takes us to process the images and upload them to Portal.
The kpi for uploading images is currently benefitted by the presence of James, which has allowed other senior staff to catch up on projects which have been on hold up until now. However, once James begins his TeleDerm role, newly qualified staff will be trained to carry out the QA process.
The number of staff days lost in February increased, from 28 to 35, however this is mainly due to annual leave (16 in January compared to 31 in February). Sickness days fell from 12 in January to 4 in February.
The Skin Pictures email account was cleared and good inroads have been made into clearing the backlog of Watch Folders images.
